Added the final touches to the day/night ceiling I was working on since last week
by jean on Apr.30, 2006, under Painting Jobs
The ceiling I’ve been working on with a daytime clouds theme and nighttime stars theme looks amazing…if I do say so myself! ![]()
I went there earlier today to do some final touches and to examine the few stars I had painted on a dark ceiling fan blades. The paint dries translucent and it is hardly noticeable unless you are looking for them. The owner of this house even said it is barely detectable on the fan and she didn’t mind at all.
She tells me that it is just like camping. Her and her sweetie stargazed that first night he saw it and they both think it’s cool.
Every ceiling mural looks different but they all are beautiful! It really turned out well, I am very pleased with what I did!

Awhile back, I was approached by someone who misrepresented himself to me in order to get information about Starscapes®. Long story short, he copied my site and Starscapes® structural layout of the opportunity in an effort to start up his own competing business. Not only did he contact a number of people within the Starscapes® network, he also did his diligence with other companies who offer similar opportunities.
In short, there’s no problem with doing research or behaving in a due diligent way in order to make up one’s mind in committing to this venture or any other major decision in life. The problem lies in the deceitful way in which he went about it. He may continue to spew out lies in his own defence for his actions but if he was being honest with me and himself, he would know there is no justification for thief of intellectual property.
This sort of thing has been a long and continuous problem I’ve had to face with other people “borrowing” from me what isn’t theirs to use as their own. As an artist I am outraged at the laziness and lack of originality other so-called “artists” have shown. Maybe if someone takes their hard work, they will actually understand where I’m coming from….but then again, if they are used to taking other people’s ideas, then perhaps they will never truly grasp the moral and legal scope of it all.
Sad really.
If they only take their energies towards creating something on their own instead of acting out in devious ways, maybe they would have something to truly be proud of.
I do have to say that this person, whom I will not name names had the guts to call me after this whole thing. I guess he didn’t realize it was I who tracked him down and exposed him. He does now. I believe there is a lawsuit pending but that is the bed he chose, now he must lie in it.
I may be a very nice person but there are definitely things I do not stand for….one major thing is lack of integrity and the other is dishonesty. I can be your biggest supporter but as soon as any signs of those two things surface, it’s time for my exit. Life isn’t about cheating others to get ahead or making false promises to make a buck. That certainly isn’t the way to do business either. But at the end of half hour of going back and forth with this guy on the telephone, I was through with it all. I said “good luck in whatever you decide to do. in the end, you’re the one who has to live with yourself.” and then I hung up.
Now that I’ve said what I needed to express to him and have posted this final go-around on thieves, it’s time to move to happier, more productive things and let this whole mess go. ![]()
Speaking of productive things, I have decided to start offering day time murals in combo with the night time themes. I painted a few demos of day/night combo to add to my ever expanding binder….just waiting for them to dry completely before I put them in my book. The two tone colorwashing is really a nice touch to the clouds murals! Two tones of blue really give the mural more depth and intrigue, I really like it a lot and I know others will be pleased as well. ![]()
On that note, I will end here for today, I have a crab date later! If you are in the Baltimore area, you have to go to Seaside Restaurant in Glen Burnie for their crabs, they have THE BEST crabs ever!! Once you go Seaside, you never want to go any place else! YUM! ![]()
Added the stars into the clouds mural from last week
by jean on Apr.28, 2006, under Painting Jobs
Since this homeowner was not in a big hurry to have her mural completed, I finally managed to get in there tonight to do the stars. The sky looked amazing! This theme was a cross between the Original Backyard and the Deep Space Fantasy. More stars than Original but not quite as many as Deep Space…. this is what I call Artist’s Choice! At $6.50 per square foot, a price right between all my themes to date, it is a mixture of all elements I love most in my paintings. ![]()
Artist’s Choice is just that…my choice of what I want to paint at that moment…rest assured that it will always look pleasing to the eye and offer a bit of intrigue that other straight themes don’t offer.
Tomorrow I will go back during the daytime to see how the glow paints look on the clouds day mural and put my final touches on the ceiling.
It’s nice to have so much time and freedom to work on this mural, it is definitely looking NICE!
