Lately, they’ve been running the commercial for the Crayola Glow Chalk with the kids dancing around drawing with the glow chalk in a room. I’ve seen it a bunch and the jingle for it is very catchy. I find myself humming it with the commercial and afterwards too.

What is interesting is their concept for the glow chalk, they have kids drawing it on the floor and on the walls in a huge room. Don’t most kids use chalk outside on the sidewalk? or on a chalkboard indoors? I can see how cool it would look as the glowing effects from the chalk seen in the Crayola glow chalk commercial is similar to the glowing effects of the stars I paint….however, my stars look a lot better and glow longer.

I see also in the commercial they are using a blacklight to illuminate the chalk drawings for their glowing effects. I’d imagine anyone using the chalk will need something similar to really show off the glow of the chalk.

Regardless of my observations, I’d be curious to get some of the Crayola glow chalk just to see for myself how well it works and how long it will glow, after all, it is a kids toy unlike the professional grade glow paints I use for my stargazing ceiling murals of the glow in the dark stars!
