June 9th marked my 8th anniversary as a starscapes artist-illusionist. It’s almost hard to believe that it’s been 8 years! I remember when I first found out about this type of business and was super excited to learn to paint stars. To embark on a new journey, who knew back then where it would take me and that I would stick to doing this for so long. I can’t imagine not painting starscapes, it’s such a cool service to offer to people, everyone seems to be amazed by it.

And it all started from a little bottle I called “Starlit Beach”. It’s a combination of a beach in a bottle, filled with some sand and seashells. Small crystals and stones were added to make the most soothing sound as you move the bottle around. Iridescent gitter along with my secret ingredient of glow in the dark sand. Iridescent/prism color tiny shapes of hearts, stars, and moons were also inside starlit beach. It’s such a beautiful little bottle….then I ran out of the glow in the dark specks of sand! It’s not “starlit” without the glow in the dark sand.

I looked everywhere at retail stores and none had it, I think it was fluke I found it at a place a long time ago that was going out of business. My search lead me online and I am not sure I ever found it again, I haven’t made a starlit beach in a very long time, maybe because it was missing the one key item. But through my research, I chased links on websites and stumbled upon the starscapes business opportunity….and the rest is history!

8 years later and here I am, I have written a small ebook about my experience with getting into this star painting business and I’ve painted dozens of murals to date! I’ve even expanded and branched out from the usual starscapes themes with themes of my own along with day time clouds murals too! I’ve been an innovator with this business and have been leading the way through mentoring others who are starting out as a painter of dreams.

It hasn’t always been an easy road, in fact, I don’t recall it ever really being all that easy with starting any venture on your own. Any type of business, especially home based businesses require so much more hard work because you’re basically a one man/woman show. From sales and marketing to the customer service and don’t forget the painting! I don’t have a crew of people lugging around my equipment and prepping my rooms, it’s just me. How I fit everything in my car boggles my mind, THAT is an illusion in and of itself! I am a master illusionist at this point, 8 years is a long time to still be actively painting…..and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

There’s been ups and downs but am I glad I am a starscapes artist? HECK YEAH! I paint stars, how cool is that?? I put smiles on people’s faces! I inspire others, I help them relax! I bring joy to little kid faces, what kid doesn’t LOVE stars? Kids of ALL ages LOVE LOVE LOVE stars! And most I hope are a kid at heart, life is too short to not live carefree and have what makes you happy.

Who knows what I’d be doing right now if I never found Starscapes….

Two is good but three is better! I also rolled out the newest installment of payment plans…well, not so much a payment plan but it’s a “lock in a sale price deposit option“! This is for the serious folks who know they will get a mural done but can’t right this moment and still want to take advantage of a good sale to lock in the discounts. I’m really excited about this as there are two options for the deposit so it should work for most people. All this info is on the same page, just a different section.

And then there was four! It is the best writing ball point pen I have ever used! Seriously, my teenager niece used to swipe a pen everytime she came over saying how it’s like her “soul mate” pen because it writes so perfectly! You’ll like this pen, everyone who’s gotten a pen from me really like the way it writes, I had tested a bunch of pens before choosing this one! And the colors are fun and vibrant, perfect for summer time!

Anyway, 8 years, I had to reflect a bit on my star painting career and roll out some new stuff! I did say before that I am innovative, right? You won’t see any other star painter offer so much and I am happy to give out discounts if it means more people will get to smile at my beautiful artwork

I’ve been tossing around the idea of a mentoring program for those I have personally signed up to become a Starscapes® Artist-Illusionist. It will be a nice way to share what I know with new SAIs!

The preliminary includes an exclusive area to the members only section of a private forum. Here I will give out all my little secrets to make the Starscapes learning experience that much easier!

I think I should have the details finalized by the end of next week and will begin adding valuable info to this private forum and start sending out VIP notices to some of the new members that have joined Starscapes through me.

I will also be offering web services and marketing services of all kinds so it should be very interesting! I can not wait til it’s all put together as I feel it will be a great support system for all involved.
