Texture ceilings are NOT fun at all…

I started the day/night theme today on the texture ceiling. This ceiling is pretty textured and rolling on the base coat, stuff was falling off all over the place! I was covered with specks of painted plaster. ![]()
Tomorrow, I’ll be doing the glazing with two tones of blue to add more intrigue. This is a new technique I decided to try out. The homeowner is gamed for whatever I want to try as long as the end result is pleasing! ![]()
I think for the future, I’ll be raising the price for murals done on textured surfaces. For one, it takes extra long, almost twice as long to work with textured surfaces due to the irregularities of the surface; and two, it takes extra effort in getting a textured ceiling to look right for what I am trying to accomplish which if it was on a flat ceiling, there would not be an issue. ![]()
All I can say is that my arm and shoulder has never been as fatigued as I am right now from rolling paint onto a ceiling….so many grooves and crevices to paint into. We’ll see how tomorrow goes with the colorwashing. ![]()
Tomorrow I’ll take some pictures since I forgot to bring the camera today.
